A huge percentage of my friends, watchers and followers know that i'm a K-pop fan. And its not unexpected that i like Asian music in general.

Ever since different genres of music existed and became known, it couldn't be avoided that people are prejudiced by another person's music preference.

Our country used to be colonized by the Americans.
In thought and in preference, we still are. Just the fact that we prefer American products over our own proves that.

~What's the connection?

-More than half of our country's population prefers listening to and imitating the American Pop Culture, and therefore view K-pop to be weird. And that most male Kpop idols look/are "Gay'.
I actually got no problem with that, after all{they ARE pretty XD}we DO have our own personal preference and opinions. There's really no need to bash at someone's style.
They even call Kpop to be corny, arguing that the fans don't really understand what the song's lyrics mean.

That's only half the truth. We DO understand it. We read English lyrics y'know?

YOU DON'T DESERVE TO BE A KPOP FAN IF YOU'RE TOO LAZY TO GO THE EXTRA MILE AND RESEARCH LYRICS AND REALLY UNDERSTAND THE SONG.
*just my own belief XD

~If your country is too 'exposed' to American music, why pick Kpop?
-I'd have to blame J-pop for that. Or more specifically,Anime. I used to watch anime everyday when i was younger. The opening and ending songs really excited me and the fact that it was in a different language further intrigued me. Why in past tense?
It's because my interest in such pretentious things slowly degraded as i grew. Moving on from drawn, animated shounens to living, breathing, singing idols.
And the dances are actually easy. Perfect for me, who loves dancing but is too lazy to learn cramping, popping and tumbling.

I've forgotten how long I've been a fan but the first kpop song i heard was 'Sorry, Sorry' by Super Junior, when it became such a hit a few years ago.

[NOTE!]
I'm NOT a fan of K-dramas. Horror, yes. Otherwise not really. I think the only one i watch from time to time is "To The Beautiful You",only because Choi Minho and Lee Hyunwoo was there.
I'm not the 'I-love-k-pop-therefore-i-must-love-everything-Korean' type of girl.

Anywho thanks for reading through the whole thing!
Feel free to say anything.
I seriously don't know what category i should put this is |D

But in a nutshell, the whole thing talks about my personal music preference. And whatever, just read XD

haha that made me laugh and realized something.
You got a nice view there, I thought all kpop fans are from kdrama fans. I'm not a big kpop fan but I love some songs from kdrama and made me love some bands like cnblue. One thing I love about some kpop and jpop songs is their way of singing, I can feel their songs entering heart unlike other songs that simply passing through your hearing system. Right?:3 ohh..esp IU, her songs are so amazing. Full of feelings :)
